He’s sorry he said it, he’s not sorry he feels that way. It should not shock anyone to learn that he’s not as awesome as they thought. He’s extremely highly revered here in New Orleans and he’s done a lot to earn it. But remember, he grew up a white guy, in Texas, who was good at football. So yeah he’s privileged. And that was before he became obscenely wealthy and acquired God-like status among the locals. Now once his comments were heard and he was called out, he listened, apologized, and retracted. Do I think he was really enlightened overnight? Probably not. But at the end of the day, I do think he WANTS to be a good guy and will probably make a genuine effort to learn how to be better. That’s ideally what we want. That said, I do understand if people view his apology with skepticism. He is a jerk for letting others pressure and guilt him because he has a different opinion.

Not talking about his comment! I’m talking about the fact that every famous people says something only to delete and apologize when people don’t like it. Says something when you have people complaining about others kneeling as a sign of protest. I’d have thought that killing citizens for the slightest provocation is more important than apparently disrespecting a flag by kneeling.
